Blocking spam, free script versus Pro (See more user questions)
That's a possibility. One way to tell for sure is to use an email address
for the script that you do not use (and never have used) elsewhere. Only
form submissions will go to that email address.
The Pro version is every bit as secure as the free version. Security in
this sense is about the ability of spammers to spam third parties by using
your form as a relay, the sort of thing that gets your hosting account shut
down. With either version of the script, third parties cannot get spammed,
it cannot be used as a relay.
The Pro version has a number of features that will cut down the spam you get
through the form, as you can see on the link I gave you. In this sense it
is much better than the free version.
